The Fall Time Cozy Time Book Tag!

This tag was originally created by Sam's Nonsense  Click Here to watch the original video. Let's go!

- Crunching Leaves: The world is full of color - choose a book that had reds/oranges/yellows
on the cover
The Candymakers by Wendy Mass is a fantastic middle grade book to read! And it also has these colors. It's a mystery and I really enjoyed it!

- Cozy Sweater - It's finally cold enough to don warm cozy clothing: what book gives you the
warm fuzzies?
Definitely a book from Cassie Clare! Cassandra Clare's books always make me feel things. She is a queen.

- Fall Storm: The wind is howling & the rain is pounding - choose your favorite book OR
genre that you like to read on a stormy day
My favorite genre to read on a stormy day is probably a contemporary! I feel like storms and calming and contemporaries are usually very calm. (to be more specific probably a Rainbow Rowell contemporary)

- Cool Crisp Air: What's the coolest character you'd want to trade places with?
Katniss because she just seems amazing! I know that's probably a common answer, but I have to agree. *cough* *cough* Plus she ends up *cough* you know who.*cough*

- Hot Apple Cider: What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?
Floors by Patrick Carman. It's my favorite middle grade series and if it were to become a movie, tv show, etc. it would be amazing! I highly recommend reading it!

- Coat, Scarves, and Mittens - The weather has turned cold & it's time to cover up - What's
the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?
I'm sorry in advance to the fandom. Twilight. People are just really quick to judge when it comes to this series and it's hard to have the books in public without being teased.

- Pumpkin Spice: What's your favorite Fall time comfort food/foods?
Birthday cake! (My birthday is in the fall)

- Warm, Cozy Bonfire: Spread the cozy warmth - Who do you tag?
You! Anyone who read this has now been tagged!

Character Madness Book Tag!

I don't know who created the tag, but I would give credit if I knew. I tried to find out, but couldn't. Let's get on with the tag!

1. Who is the best kick-butt character?
For this one I'm going to say Katy from The Lux Series! She showed everyone what she could do and proved she was strong. She also didn't freak out (too much) when she found out aliens were real.

2. Which character do you most dislike?
The character I most dislike is Carson from Struck By Lightning. He always talked about how great of a person HE was. He also said everyone besides him was an idiot. You can probably see why I disliked him.

3. If you could date any fictional character who would it be and why?
 (from The Mortal Instruments) I love Sizzy but I love Simon more. I would date Simon in a heartbeat. People think I'm crazy because I like Simon better than Jace. I know. *gasp* Simon is just such a nerd. I love it.

4. If you could change any character in any way who would you change and what would you change about them?
I feel like this series is perfect and shouldn't be changed but I thought this character didn't smile enough and needed to have more fun. That character is Jacin from the Lunar Chronicles. I understand his situation but he still annoyed me a little.

5. What character to you made all the wrong choices that didn't add anything to the book?
Aspen from The Selection trilogy. I didn't like him in the beginning and I felt like the entire time he was just making everything worse. In my opinion, he made the series longer than it needed to be.

6. Which character do you love to hate?
Levana from The Lunar Chronicle. Whenever an author gives you a book with a villains backstory,  you usually end up understanding why they act the way they do. But in this case, that didn't happen. After I read Fairest I felt like I hated her more than before. She's just an awful person.

7. Favorite side character with the most heart?
I felt like Jacob from the Twilight series (ew Twilight. I know. I know.) had a lot of heart even though I didn't like him more than Edward. I think he was still a nice guy.

8. What is your favorite fictional romantic relationship?
Cinder and Kai (The Lunar Chronicles) because they are my babies. I love them SO much. Just...AH.
I just love them enough that I can't put it into words.

9. What character do you think was the strongest?
I have to say Percy Jackson for this one. He has to go through SO MUCH. I won't say a ton more so I don't spoil it, but he is faced with a lot of challenges and I just don't know how he does it.

10. Favorite protagonist?
This is one of the hardest questions I have ever answered. There are so many fantastic ones. Im just going to go with a random one I love and that is Harry Potter. He has one of the most amazing point of views I have ever read. The Harry Potter books are hilarious and if you haven't read them..READ THEM NOW.

That was a really fun tag! I enjoyed it! I tag YOU! Anyone who reads this is now tagged! If you do/did this tag and you leave a comment with a link, I'll check it out! I would love to know what you put!

Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief Review

I have done it! I read Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief! 10/10! It was funny, had great characters, the world building was fantastic, and the plot was gripping! If you like Greek mythology you should definitely read it! If you don't like Greek mythology you should still read it!
~~~SPOILERS AHEAD~~~
Plot: I was very intrigued by the plot because I have always loved Greek mythology! (I probably should have read this sooner.) Rick Riordan has put us the mind of a demigod who goes on an adventure to find The Lighting Thief! Someone has stolen Zuess' thunderbolt and Percy needs to get it back or a war might start! There were twists and turns when you least expected them! The plot gets 10/10
Characters:
           Percy Jackson - He had me laughing almost the entire time! (Out loud) He didn't give up when Hades had his mom! He didn't just run when Ares fought him! He (with help from Sally) killed stinky Gabe! (He outsmarted me a few times.)
           Annabeth Chase - She was extremely smart and witty but also was sweet. She had a great backstory that I can't wait to find out more about!
           Grover: He was my favorite out of the main three! He ate tin cans and dreamed about finding Pan! I just hope he finds Pan and makes it back safe!
    The characters get 10/10
World Building: I feel like the first book should always have good world building but never be too slow. The world building wasn't boring at any moment, but I want to know more! (And hope to find more in the next books!) World building gets a 10/10
In the end, I know I will continue this series and it may even become a new favorite! Let me know in the comments who you're favorite character of the main three was and if you were late to series like me!
     Thoughts I had during this book:
 ~Percy you're going to get Grover killed.
 ~Grover is a GOAT?!
 ~I love Annabeth.
 ~Luke seems a little off to me. I don't like him.
 ~Percy you're going to get yourself killed.
 ~Annabeth is playing fetch with the hellhound. Oh no.
 ~Don't VISIT HADES. *facepalm*
 ~Percy you're going to get Annabeth killed.
 ~IT WAS ARES *gasp*
 ~Percy you're going to get EVERYONE KILLED.
 ~Medusa's head! You genius!
 ~Percy you saved everyone.
 ~WOW.
Physical books and Audio books
I see so many people talking about ebook vs. physical book and I decided to try something a little different. I'm going to do Audio book vs. Physical book.
     I love both very much. I always have one audio book and one physical book at all times.
                   Round 1: Experience
I feel a physical book is a better experience, because you can imagine your own voices for the characters. With an audio book your eyes can wander freely. This makes it harder to stay concentrated.
                   Round 2: To-Do Lists
With an audio book you can get things done while you listen. (Maybe do laundry, etc.) There is a downside to this. Sometimes you miss good details in the book. You might get caught up in a burning stove and forget who Katniss was talking to. *cough* Not that I've done that. *cough* Umm... where was I...
                   Round 3: Speed
I, personally, am a slow reader. I find an audio book is better if I have to meet a deadline.
                  Round 4: Food
I can't eat and read. I either make a mess, or I hurt the book. I love to listen to an audio book while I eat lunch or just having a snack!
                  Round 5: Notes
 I can take notes with a physical book better. You can't easily bookmark a quote in an audio book.(cd)
                  Round 6: Feels
When feels hit, they hit hard but I think it's easier to deal with while using a physical book.
WARNING: Listening to an audio book with feels can be dangerous. If you are not sitting down it could result in severe injuries. Remember to stop, drop and roll immediately.
    So, do you like an audio book or physical book better? Let me know in the comments!
BOOKTUBE-A-THON IS HERE EVERYONE
Now, I don't post on YouTube but I LOVE to participate every year, and I thought I could just do it on here. Booktube-a-thon is a readathon. It lasts a week (the 18th through the 24th) and Ariel Bisset hosts it. For more info:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eFFTCnMATs
If you don't know what it is, watch that then come back.
So, this is my TBR for Booktube-a-thon! (with the 7 challenges)
1. A Book with Yellow on the Cover
For this one I chose Struck By Lightning by Chris Colfer. There's a little yellow on the cover. You see it?
2.A Book to Read Only After Sunset
I chose Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell because it seemed like a good book to read before bed or a stay up all night read.
3.A Book You Discovered Through Booktube
Jesse the Reader is one of my favorite booktubers. His favorite book series is the Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children series by Ransom Riggs. I bought it because, well, it's his favorite, and there's a good chance I'll love it, but I STILL haven't read it. I'm sorry, Jesse!
4.A Book by One of Your Favorite Authors
I am finally going to do it!
 I love Sarah J. Maas and her writing. I read A Court of Thorns and Roses a while back, but A Court of Mist and Fury is WAY too long to read over Booktube-a-thon. So, I've decided I am going to reread ACOTAR.
5.A Book That is Older Than You
I read Mary Poppins when I was in third or fourth grade and I've wanted to read it again for some time now. Oh, and yes, it is older than me. It was published in 1934 by P.L. Travers.
6.Read a Book and Watch it's Film Adaptation
I am going to read Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan for this one. I plan on finishing this series this year.
7.Read 7 Books.
For my final book I chose Shadows by J. L. Armentrout. (It's in the second half of Opposition.)
Well, that about wraps up what I'm reading for Booktube-a-thon.
If you plan on participating, I would love to know what you plan on reading. You can tell me in the comments, or you can just leave a link if you have a video or post and I'll check it out!
Types of Book Slumps and How to Deal with Them
TYPES OF ZE SLUMPS AND HOW TO EXTERMINATE THEM!!!
1.THE BURNOUT
So, lets say you read this six book series in, like, a DAY. Now lets say you get to a point where you might read a book, and forget everything. "Oh, hey! What's that book about, Addie?" "Um, it's about this person....who goes to this place..." *throws down book in frustration* It's like your just staring at a page with marky-things on it and you're thinking the entire time, Did I feed the dog this morning?, Oh, I can't forget to update my twitter!, or maybe Oh crap, Heartless doesn't come out till November, and it's only June! Maybe you see the word sunglasses, and you're like, What are sunglasses? Is this even English?
Solution:
You have read too much at once, my friend. You might need to take a break from reading. *gasp* I know, it happens to the best of us. Come back in a day or two, and try again.
2. HANGOVER
 Ok, you've finished this great series with the best characters, the best worlds, and the best EVERYTHING. Now you pick up a new book and you're like, But NOTHING can replace JEM!!! No, I can never move on!!! *cries dramatically*
Solution:
Alright, listen to me, I will only say this once. You need to conquer your TBR. You must. For if all bookworms can catch up on their stacks of books, we can RULE THE WORLD!!! MWAHAHA!!! *cackles evilly* Feel better?
3. BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT TO READ!!!
Solution:
Understandable. It is sometimes hard to decipher what your mood is. I recommend either Goodreads or Twitter. You can find some really good recommendations from social media.
4. DEPRESSION
Maybe a character you REALLY loved died. Maybe the series didn't have a satisfying ending.
Solution:
I understand what you are going through. You may need time to grieve, and that is fine, but as soon as you're sure you're ready. Your bookshelf is waiting for you with a surprise.
5. I HATE READING AND I WILL NEVER READ AGAIN
Why the heck are you reading this?! You need a doctor. Make an appointment, like NOW, and tell them it's urgent.
Solution:
I can't fix this. Like I said, you NEED A DOCTOR.
6. HAMILTON
Hamilton is so good! I can take a break from reading to listen to Hamilton!
Solution:
READ Hamilton. Yes, there's a book. I know. It is amazing. Yes, you should get it right now.
7. NETFLIX
Solution:
Put an alarm on the OK button of your remote. It should sound like sirens, you know, wheeeee-ooooooh, weeeeee-oooooh PUT THE REMOTE DOWN!!! BACK AWAY FROM THE TV!!!
I did it!
So I finally got a book blog. I can't figure out gifs yet, but when I do I will probably use, like, one a sentence. You have been warned. I'm going to do book reviews, (mostly YA) challenges, and tags. This may get interesting. I'm going to try and post on Monday and Friday. This is just for fun and I hope you like it. Now, how do I use those darn gifs?
